How do I get video and audio between two computers on a home LAN network?

Want to set up a surveillance cam on one computer that is near my driveway and be able to check it from another computer.I need to know what software to use. The computers are linked via ethernet cables into a router. I don't want to use an internet program like AIM .Thanks
