Is ADT a pretty good company to install video security?

I want to install an outdoor video security system but there's no way I can do it on my own.

I'm thinking of ADT. Are they a good company to deal with?

Also, if you are a policeman what kind of security systems are the best?

Don't say a big dog as I have a pomeranian already, and don't want another dog.
